Biography

I was raised on small farm in western Scott County.  After graduating from Davenport West High (1998) and Loras College (2002),  I went on to earn a graduate degree in Sociology from Loyola in Chicago (2005).

I am currently employed as a full-time faculty member through the Eastern Iowa Community College District and as an adjunct professor at Augustana College.

I live in Dixon, Iowa with my wife Melissa and our three boys: Ashton age 8, Bennett age 4, and Graham age 2.
In 2004 I was elected to my first term as Davenport’s Second Ward Alderman and was re-elected to a second term in 2006. I was first elected to the Iowa Senate in 2008 and am currently seeking my second term in office.
